Kenji Yamaguchi


Kenji was born in Japan and received his initial training in Tokyo at the Studio Ichibangai, The Performing Dance Center and the Japan Broadway Dance Center. He danced professionally throughout Asia for several years and additionally became proficient in gymnastics, culminating in his participation in the Olympics held in Los Angeles as a member of the Japanese gymnastics team.
Kenji has continued his dance studies in Los Angeles and earned his B.F.A. from California Institute of The Arts. He has locally performed in Dance Kaleidoscope, Jazz Dance L. A., Dance Spectrum and Praxis Projects. He placed first at the Japan National Jazz Society Competition as well as first and second place at the Palm Desert Dance Under the Stars Competition. Kenji currently teaches ballet, jazz and modern dance at Millennium Dance Complex, Mayfield Senior High School, Idyllwild Arts Academy and Yuri Grigoriev School of Ballet. As a Dancer in Kin Dance Company at the Linhart Theatre in New York City, the Dance legend, Gus Solomons, Jr. described him as "a slight dancer with huge flexibility, whose every move looked studied for perfection of line." Lewis Segal refers to his choreography as "earthy and danced brilliantly."
He was recently awarded Pas De Deux at the Ninth Annual Dance Under The Stars Choreograph Festival in Palm Desert, California.


Kana Miyamoto


Kana began her dance training at the early age of three. She studied at the Mayumi Minokami Ballet Academy and performed in their productions of Swan Lake, Coppelia, Don Quixote, The Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, and Giselle. Lana came to America in 1997 and has since performed throughout the United States with the Kin Dance Company and AnNamx Dance Productions.
She has locally performed in Jazz Dance L.A. and Dance Spectrum. Kana currently teaches Ballet at Hama's Dance Center, Millennium Dance Complex, Edge Performing Arts Center and Mayfield Senior High School in Pasadena. As a dancer in Kenji Yamaguchi's works, she was described by the Los Angeles Times as "elegantly tethered to an earthbound sorrow." Her solo work has also been called gripping and soul-searching. She also worked in the movie "Memories of a Geisha" as a Japanese traditional dancer.


Risa Tadokoro


Risa is a native of Japan. She started to dance Jazz at the age of 11. Risa came to America in 2001, and joined Ken Dance Company 2003. She participated in the Jazz Dance L.A. show from 2002-2005, and performed in the Lester Horton Dance Awards show in 2006. In addition, she performed in "Frankie's Gypsy Roses" in 2006. Currently Risa worked at the Hama's Dance Center where she has acted as manager since 2005.

Junji Dezaki


Junji is a native of Japan . He started his dance training only five years ago. His early training lies in the martial arts. He has black belt in Wado, for which he competed in the All Japan Contest in 2000.   As a member of Ken Dance Company, he has performed in Spirited Astray and was recently picked by Monsters of Hip-Hop as the first male Japanese dancer, for which he received a scholarship for 2007. This year he was a guest performer at the show, along with Marty Kudelka, Napoleon & Tabitha Dumo, Teresa Espinosa and Dave Scott.   Junji has worked as a volunteer choreographer at a Kindergarten school putting together a Sports Festival production for young children. When training kids, he wants them to feel his passion for dance through music.   As a guest artist, he performed for the EDGE Annual Show in LA, this past July; choreographed by Andre Fuentes.
